2020 Canada Life Championship cancelled

Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada cancels 2020 season

(London, ON) – The Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada announced today that the 2020 season has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.

The Canada Life Championship, which was originally scheduled for September 17-20, is among the cancellations.

“Working closely with the Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada we fully support the decision to cancel the 2020 season,” said Canada Life Championship Tournament Director Justin Wismer. “Our primary responsibility is the safety of the local community, and we feel like this is the best decision for everybody.”

“With growing uncertainty surrounding the border and quarantine regulations, among other factors, we have been in consistent communication with all of our events and believe this decision ensures the safety of the community,” said Mackenzie Tour Executive Director Scott Pritchard. “We are going to use this time to work alongside all of our tournaments as we prepare for the 2021 season.”

The 2020 season was set to be the Mackenzie Tour’s eighth season, with the 13-scheduled events being the most in the Tour’s history.

“Our commitment to the City of London is unwavering and we are going to work hard to continue to make a positive impact in the community despite the cancellation,” said Wismer.
